Parents,We read
together Ch. 35. Then completed a map study and vocabulary
sheet. We reviewed Ch. 33-35. Next we finished with a test
on these chapters.
Homework: We finished our
studies today. They are to choose their favorite chapter and
feature it on family night. No extra work and just what we
did in class for that chapter.
We
will finish all unfinished work. For those finished, they
will do beaded design work.

we did a pop-up picture of the Tower of London.

2. Work on a project: We broke into three groups. They were
assigned an empire to read and study about. Worksheets
were given to each group to find answers. Also, they were
given a map to locate the empire.

We went through Ch. 17, did a map study and then created our
own Coat of Arms. We also made spurs for our hoursed to be used in our
jousting tournament.

Parents,
Art class began today. They each chose a puzzle to assemble. Then
when they complete the puzzle, they will glue it together. We will then
frame it. This represents mosaic art.
No homework.
We had a great time with our first Hopscotch Math class. They enjoyed
it so much I had to kick them out at the end. This class should help
with reviewing and memorizing multiplication facts, division facts, and
multiples. We discussed their different levels and discussed how they
class will help all of them. Ask them to show you their learning log to
this point. They have two pages of homework. Most of them finished
most of it in class so it won't take long. The also each need a
notebook with two pockets and a binder section in the middle. Paper or
plastic binders are fine. Please let me know if you have any questions.

2. Write facts for reading. Facts for p. 80 can be written
in the journal. Facts for pp. 81-83 should be written
on paper. Facts do not need to be wirtten for each
specific kind of fruit. Rather, they should write general
facts about "Fleshy Fruits" and "Dry Fruits".
3. Bring in a fruit for next Monday's class.
4. Bring in gardening gloves that can stay at
the school for the reminder of the year. We will be tending the
school garden.
5. Finish all work for Ch. 1-5. Notebooks
will be collected next week.

Parents: We began the
germination project (pp. 29-30 in the text) in class today. The
students wrote a hypothesis in their journals. For the next 12
days, they are to record the length of each of the 3 plants that
they put in the window, refrigerator and dark place. They should
not have to remove the seeds from the baggies to measure them.
Please refer to pp. 29-30 for information on this project, as we
were rushed at the end of class going over it. Let me know if
you have any questions. Thank you!

words found on these pages. I do, however, want
them to be familiar with the process as we will be
doing the dissection in class.

questions on p. 6 but they are also on the handout
the kids brought home. They should answer them on
the handout.
Dear Parent -
Today we stared with a carpet ride through the Roman Empire. Next we
did a map study of the area. Then we reviewed the fall of the Roman
Empire. We did a comparison of the Roman soldier to a Celtic warrior.
The Celts had no written language so they communicated through songs and
stories. We read one such story about the warrior Craith. On Monday, we
will act out the story.
Homework:
1. Do vocabulary worksheet. 2. Read papers 26-28 of Ch. 2. Be ready to act out your
part which has been highlighted in your book.

We studied concrete or abstract. Worksheets and
