Middle School Program

Students in Grades 7-8 focus on more advanced academics utilizing methods such as research, narration, note taking and oral presentation in preparation for the transition to High School.

  • Social Studies

Description: BJU World Studies present students with a historical, geographic, and thematic survey beginning with the growth of towns after the Dark Ages and continuing through the twentieth century.

  • Math

Description: This class is taught using Bob Jones Grade 7 Fundamentals of Math. Students will employ problem solving and real-life uses of math in order to reinforce computation skills and build a solid math foundation. In addition, curriculum will be supplemented with pre-algebra activities in an effort to prepare the students for future algebra classes.

  • Science

Description: Exploring Creation with General Science is designed to be a systematic introduction to the sciences. The course covers such topics as the scientific method, designing experiments, simple machines, archaeology, geology paleontology, biology, and human anatomy and physiology.

  • Physical Education

Description: Students can expect to learn about and participate in a wide variety of physical activities. These will range from the very familiar – football, basketball, soccer – to the (for most kids) unusual – rock climbing, croquet, lacrosse.

  • Communications/Art

Description: Communications is offered during the first semester and Art for the second. With the language-arts based simulation Sailor of the Stars, students go through the entire process of astronaut training – from applying for a position as an astronaut to living in space, landing and debriefing. Students in Art class will study the work of masters, explore the basic components of painting and experiment using various mediums with Acrylics I - a college curriculum scaled down as needed for the middle school student.
