Early Learners Program

This program lays the foundation for the littlest learners with developmentally appropriate activities and cooperative learning experiences using early childhood themes based on the Five in a Row series.


pre-k/kindergarten
ages 4-5

Elementary Programs

Elementary students in Primary (Gr. 1-2) and Intermediate (Gr. 3-4) and Upper (Gr. 5-6) Elementary classes learn age-appropriate academic concepts via hands-on, cooperative learning activities and unit studies.

Our education professionals work with you to place your child in one of our multi-age programs that is both academically and socially appropriate for them.

  • Science

Description: Students participate in various science experiments and are encouraged to interact with the world around them using a scientific eye via themes studies based on the Magic School Bus series.
 

  • Social Studies

Description: Students develop an age appropriate understanding of Social Studies and History using selected books from the Magic Tree House series.
 

  • Science, Social Studies Extension

Description: Extension classes take students to the next level with additional labs and projects correlating with their Science and Social Studies courses. This is a great opportunity for teachers to use hands-on projects they could not fit into regular class time.
 

  • Physical Education

Description: The year begins with an introduction into team sports, then expands upon students' knowledge as the year progresses. Students can expect to learn about and participate in a wide variety of physical activities. These will range from the very familiar: football, basketball, soccer; to the unusual: rock climbing, croquet, lacrosse.
 

  • American Sign Language/Art

Description: During the first semester, Primary students study American Sign Language with Signing for Kids. In addition to learning basic signs, students learn how to apply sign language to music. For the second semester, students create their own masterpieces using A Study of the Masters curriculum.
 

  • Language Arts/Math Enrichment

Description: For the first semester, Folk Tales challenges children to bring back the ancient art of storytelling. During the second semester, students will learn, practice and gain time-telling skills and knowledge with Tick Tock.

  • Social Studies

Description: Who was the Sun King? What was the black hole of Calcutta? Where was the Crystal Palace? How did cow fat start a revolution? With The Story of the World curriculum, students find out the answers to these questions and more!
 

  • Science

Description: Students investigate Astronomy, Botany and Zoology using the Classical and Charlotte Mason methodology based Exploring Creation series.
 

  • Social Studies, Science Extension

Description: Extension classes take students to the next level with additional labs and projects that correlate with their Social Studies and Science courses. This is a great opportunity for teachers to use those fabulous hands-on projects they could not fit into regular class time.
 

  • Physical Education

Description: Students are introduced to writing basics with  Fundamental Steps. For the second half, students learn and apply multiplication and division facts as they hop through multiple patterns with Hopscotch Math.
 

  • American Sign Language/Art

Description: Students study American Sign Language (ASL) for the first semester with Signing for Kids and Art for the second. Sign class is for those serious about learning to sign as a second language. Students in Art class create their own masterpieces using A Study of the Masters art curriculum.

  • Social Studies

Description: Using BJU Heritage Studies 6 as a reference guide, students learn geography, history and culture in Apologia's Around the World in 180 Days.
 

  • Language Arts

Description: Classic literature selections are the foundation for study and application of the course. Additional texts used are WriteSource 6 and A Beka God's Gift of Language C.
 

  • Science

Description: Students continue to investigate Zoology using the Classical and Charlotte Mason methodology based Exploring Creation series. They will also begin studying Physical Science with Roller Coaster.
 

  • Physical Education

Description: Students can expect to learn about and participate in a wide variety of physical activities. These will range from the very familiar: football, basketball, soccer; to the unusual: rock climbing, croquet, lacrosse.
 

  • Art/Math Enrichment

Description: Students in Art class create their own masterpieces using A Study of the Masters art curriculum. For the second half of the semester, students explore the unknowns of algebra as they take a simulated trip into the sea on a submarine with Algebra the Unknown.

Private music lessons are available and integrated throughout the day as student’s schedule allows. Contact CCA staff for information on fees, instruments taught and time slot availability.

In addition to offering group classes, Covenant Christian Academy provides extra support and accountability to families who want to home educate under a private school umbrella. Contact CCA staff for specific information on fees and participation requirements.


tutoring

Private tutoring is available for students in Gr. K-12. Certified, degreed teachers tutor students in various subjects such as math and language arts. Contact CCA staff for information on fees and time slot availability.

 


Enrollment & Fees

     Students in Grades 1-6 may enroll in full two-day Elementary Programs or enroll in individual classes. Language Arts (Upper Elementary only), Science and Social Studies are designated as Core classes and are taught by degreed teachers.

     Enrollment in group classes is for the duration of the school year (two semesters), made payable in ten monthly installments. If, for any reason, the student does not attend a class, payment is still due. Enrollment is not considered final until annual payments are received. Re-enrolling families MUST be current on all fees and reports before enrolling.

     Class sizes are limited; registration is on a first-come first-serve basis. CCA reserves the right to discontinue, postpone or combine classes and to change instructors. If minimum enrollment is not reached, a class may be cancelled.

     Some classes have additional fees and/or require the purchase of a textbook.
